"Extraordinary Faith is pleased to announce the debut of a new, self-titled, 30-minute television series for the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) that showcases the beauty of classic Catholic sacred art, architecture, liturgy, and music. Special emphasis is given to the Traditional Latin Mass, also known as the Extraordinary Form or Tridentine Mass. This historic form of Catholic worship has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity in recent years, especially among the young, and is a rich source of vocations to the priesthood and religious life." Social Gathering
Class on the Traditional Latin Mass
As St Peter
observed to our Lord on the Mount of Transfiguration, it is also “Good for us”
to meet together again.
On Sunday April 6,
our friend David Rodriguez (St Vincent Ferrer Foundation, El Paso) will present
a second introductory class on the Traditional Latin Mass in Las Cruces. David’s
presentation is rich in basic liturgical principles which helps all Catholics
to be familiar with, and especially understand the Sacred Liturgy. And of
course we grow in the spiritual goods of filial piety and the love of our brethren.
The class
will meet in Las Cruces on Sunday April 6 at 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. at the “Women’s Club”
center at 340 Reymond St – corner of Reymond and W. Court St; across from the
Court Youth Center.
Please
confirm your attendance, and those you may invite, by email to Oscar Torres (ostorres77@gmail.com). The meeting space has a capacity which
the City of LC has asked us not to exceed. You may also confirm by email to the
Society (gregoriansocietylc@gmail.com) . Specific
driving directions are also available upon request.
Mark your
calendar and please join us.

St. Joseph, Ora Pro Nobis
This wonderful Solemnity of St. Joseph is an occasion to remember specifically our Shepherds. And so we pray.....
Saint Joseph,
I present to you this day
Father N______., priest of Jesus Christ,
and beg you to be to him
advocate and defender,
counselor and friend.
Open your heart to him
as you opened your home to the Virgin Mother
in her hour of need.
Protect his holy priesthood
as you protected the life of the Infant Christ
threatened by cruel Herod.
In darkness bring him light;
in weakness, strength,
and in fear the peace that passes understanding.
For the sake of the tender love that bound you
to the Virgin Mary and the Infant Christ,
be for him, Saint Joseph, a constant intercessor
and a shield against every danger of body, mind, and soul
so that, in spite of his weaknesses and sins,
his priesthood may bring glory to Christ
and serve to increase the beauty of holiness
in his bride the Church.
Amen.

So
too, do not neglect to pray for the priest(s) who Bp. Cantu will soon
ask to celebrate the Traditional Mass of the Ages for the faithful.
Remember,
also, the necessity of priests in all the parishes in the Diocese of
Las Cruces -- pray that 12 Holy, Courageous, and Faithful Priests will
be provided to serve in the Diocese before the end of June.

Pray for a More Moral USA
Please let us know if you will be praying for a more moral United States (and world) with us. Perhaps you may have a specific prayer intention (perhaps a rosary a day?). And please share this prayer request with others; this nation and the world needs our prayers.
A Blessed Feast Day of Pope St. Gregory the Great!
Pope St Gregory The Great
Today, March 12th, is the Feast Day of Pope St. Gregory I (also known as
"St. Gregory the Great"). He is a Doctor of the Church, and the
invention of "Gregorian Chant" is largely attributed to him
A Happy and Blessed Feast Day of Pope St. Gregory I to everyone.

Archbishop Alexander Sample on the Traditional Latin Mass
As we pursue more catechism about the Mass, to deepen our understanding and adoration; listen to the homily.
Thanks to Tantamergo, a TLM friend in Dallas
Archbishop
Alexander Sample has long been known as one of the most orthodox and
tradition-friendly bishops in the United States. Here he gives a sermon
during a Pontifical High Mass offered as the crowning event of a 3-day
conference on Gregorian Chant and the role of sacred music in the
liturgy at a Brigittine Monastery in Oregon. Archbishop Sample’s enormous love for the traditional Mass shines brightly through this entire sermon.

Teaching Meeting
The Society, on Sunday March 2, hosted a teaching meeting at
Branigan Library in Las Cruces. Mr. David Rodriguez, sponsored by the St
Vincent Ferrer Foundation (El Paso), began an instructional series on the
"Divine Liturgy: Fundamental Principles Governing How Man is to Worship
God." This is foundational material to help us understand objectively
"why" The Mass is the centerpointe of Faith. Mr. Rodriguez
combines the instruction of timeless truths with application to everyday events
and instances. He is also very adept at providing trustworthy responses
to our questions. The 40 faithful who attended expected a 'lecture' and were
instead treated to engagement and encouragement with faithful living.
MIssed it? Do not despair … more instruction is
forthcoming … watch this blog for dates/times.
The Society will conduct a second "introduction" meeting on Sunday, March 23rd at 2:00pm in Deming. Chris and Amy Seltzer are gracious hosts for hospitality, some information about our interaction with Bp Cantu, and (of course) Q&A. Please contact us via email at gregoriansocietylc@gmail.com for directions, etc.
